ABOUT THE ARTIST
Christiane Rancelot is an artist born and raised in France.
She studied art at « Les Beaux Arts » the famous french art academy.
Attracted by sports, she played tennis and golf competitively, making it easy for her to express the dynamic complexity of the golf swing.
She lived in Northern California and is now living in France.
"My drawings are inspired by the golf swing that is a complex movement. It has to express power, speed and precision.
Playing myself at handicap 9 level, I feel comfortable with the drawing of the swing.
Beside golf swing, I also like to show nowadays women with feminine attitudes, emotion and strenghness, using deep shades of black. My drawings express movement, sensuousness and strength.
Mixed technics are used as charcoal, pastels, oil, acrylic. Model is just a pretext.I don't copy but I express the model's identity through the swing in my own way, modern and dynamic .
Some of my works are at the limit of abstraction, both simple and complex.
My works are reproduced in Giclée prints on museum quality paper using archival inks tested not to fade for over 100 years.
All works are hand signed and numbered by myself."
